Tina Nguyen

Coming from a background of competitive volleyball sport, Tina started actively competing in CrossFit on a national and international level in 2011 and 2012. Having participated in the Canadian and European championships, she continued to pursue her interest in weightlifting. During that time she was introduced to and inspired by Lars Lienhard, who has been her mentor ever since.

Her training experiences with Lars set her off on a path to question everything she new about training: from the effectiveness of CrossFit and other conventional strength and conditioning methods, to facing the holes in mainstream fitness. This launched a deep motivation to understand the neurological implications and background of exercise. Tina went on to complete the entire Z-Health curriculum, one of the very few trainers in Europe to have achieved this.

Coaching group classes with ‘regular’ people in her gym in cologne in addition to giving a wide range of private trainings (from high level athletes to very compromised clients), has allowed her to test neurocentric concepts and principles rapidly, and observe their effectiveness amongst heterogenous groups of people.

Tina is dedicated to continue to educate the coaches and fine-tune the training program, class structure, and training dynamics at her gym in an attempt to redefine the term ‘functional training’ by integrating neurological principles in a fun and attractive way to the general public.
